Has anyone rebuilt there old 2.8 and turned it into a 3.1 or 3.4?

Just like the title saids,I've have my 2.8 out and was going to get a 3.4 but I started to think what if I rebuild the 2.8 and make it a 3.1 or 3.4, has anyone done this ? And if u did , did it work good or did u regret not getting a real 3.4 .

Finishing up a build on an 1984 Fiero with a 1990 3.1 ASC Mclaren Grand Prix engine swap. I am deleting the power steering and looking for an idler pulley. Has anyone completed something like this? or Know a pulley to use? Thanks in advance for your input.
