Temp Gauge pegs to right while loose from gauge set assembly

I pulled the Fuel & Temp gauge set out of the dash gauge assembly unit, and without it being connected to anything, it is still pegging to the far right. I recently took an 84 2.5 iron duke mated with and auto trans and swapped it with a 86 2.8 mated with a 4 speed trans. I'm pleased with the results because everything works like it should except for the two things listed. Like the title says oil pressure gauge pegged when off, key on, and started....

3800sc swap temp gauge pegging and now stuck

3800sc swap. temp gauge pegs to right, now stuck, i can open bezel and move back, but how do i keep this from happening again? also, speedo quit working, needle doesnt move, but trip odometer works, any ideas? thanks

Temp gauge pegs out

On my 88 GT the Temp Gauge pegs out one the car is started. The PO showed me how to tap the gauge with your hand, and it will drop to a normal reading. Is the gauge broken, or the sending unit bad? I have only driven the car 15 miles and did not experience any overheating problems.

Hi Guys I have a 87 fiero with a Pegged out temp gauge. I performed the wire switch in the instrument paneland temp sensor also replace a new one and still have the temp gauge pegged out at start up and it doesnot come back down. whats the next step replace gauge or needle?

I am in the process of correcting the temp. gauge pegging problem on my 87GT by swapping the wires on the sensor and at the two locations ( C2 pin 11 with C3 pin 13) on the back of the cluster harness. I was wondering if anyone knows if this fix was eventually corrected at the factory as my 88GT...
