Bounce Bounce goes my Tach.   (Archive: TD&Q - by GodSend, started: 09-23-2004, last post: 2005-01-19 11:09:22 CET)
This problem seems to be getting worse. Basically if I am cruising at say 2000 rpms the actual needle on my Tech. starts to bounce up and down several hundred rpms at least. This is happening more and more frequently now (say about 10-15 minutes out of a 1/2 hour drive). The actual engine/tranny...

Stumbling, bouncing tach   (Technical Discussion & Questions - by ultimoblaze, started: 09-12-2015, last post: 2015-09-27 02:49:36 CEST)
Hi everyone,Just recently, my Fiero started to stumble or misfire or something when on the throttle under light load and the car would buck and the tach would dip and bounce and come back. I continued driving home and it kept getting worse. I couldn't cruise at 50 mph as the car would be constantly...

It idles fine, but what would cause the tach to bounce when I step on the gas?

My tachometer is bouncing bad. From the search I did, I am thinking it is probably going to be the tach filter. My question is, where is this thingy located/what does it look like?ThanksDavidand oh yeah, where would be the best place to get a new one? Is it a commonly available part (i.e. local...

tach bounce and engine miss   (Archive: TD&Q - by dratts, started: 06-21-2005, last post: 2006-02-06 11:46:30 CET)
Wondering if there might be a connection. My engine began to stumble under accelleration about the same time that my tach needle started bouncing. Does the tach filter cause the bounce? Could it affect the engine miss?

I've had the 2nd 3800 motor running in my car and have been driving for just over a week. With the first 3800 series II NA I installed, I had a variety of missing problems which turned out to be ignition coils. I replaced all 3. With the new motor, everything seemed to be fine until yesterday....
