Remove engine from top?   (General Fiero Chat - by Castlerocco, started: 03-29-2020, last post: 2020-04-02 10:54:49 CEST)
This is only the second Fiero I've owned, but I was under the impression that to pull the engine, you had to drop the cradle. That's how I did it on my last one. But I just watched a short YouTube video of a guy pulling his 2.8 out the top. Is it easier or harder that way?

How do I remove the engine from the top?   (Archive: TD&Q - by kru, started: 10-27-2002, last post: 2003-02-04 11:36:51 CET)
I've got an 86 GT parts car that I need to get the engine out of. I've heard people say that the best way to remove an engine from a fiero is get the car up in the air and drop the whole subframe out from below. However, I don't have any way to get this car up in the air that high. So... I need...

The last ime I took my engine out it was through the top. It was a 4-speed V6. My current car is an automatic V6. Can the auto equipped engine come out OK without removing the alternator? Looks like a tight fit. I'm not asking if it should come through the top or bottom, only if I have to...

4 cylinder engine removal from top   (Archive: TD&Q - by heavyhorse, started: 04-24-2002, last post: 2002-08-25 11:43:47 CEST)
A friend of mine here at work needs to rebuild his daughter's 4 cylinder engine. Can he remove the engine from the top or does it have to come out the bottom? He's a little better than average as a backyard mechanic ans was alos interested in about how long the removal process takes.

I had to take out the engine for the third time (I’m not too lucky with my rebuild...), and while doing it twice by removing the cradle, I decided to take the engine out the top this time. Why?First of all I wanted the rest of the car to be mobile. Second I personally think it’s not all that easy to...
