I have been roding my 87 GT for a while, it was a rusty MN car that definatly seen lots of winters and salt. It wasn't bad enough to scrap the car and its a low mile blue 87 GT so I figured it was worth saving. My last rusty sections to fix are the rockers, I have had to cut then up pretty good to...

Best way to stop frame rail rust?   (Archive: TD&Q - by labbe001, started: 05-24-2010, last post: 2012-01-11 09:59:13 CET)
so i removed the rear clip on my 87GT this weekend in an effort to repair the frame rails. once i got the clip off, i realized that the rust wasn't as bad as i initially thought and i don't feel it's bad enough to have to cut and weld in new. that was a huge relief to me since i don't know how to...

Rust   (Archive: TD&Q - by ZiM_elite77, started: 09-09-2008, last post: 2010-04-21 09:20:53 CEST)
So i took another look at the Fiero i'm thinking about buying yesterday. there isn't any worrying rust damage that i can find, execpt for the bar that the trailer hitch is attached to (just beneath the rear bumper). The bolts are completely rusted on the head, and the bar itself is in pretty bad...

Hi all! Well I'm new to the site and am hoping to be a Fiero owner very soon. Found an 88 GT near me which I will be looking at later this week. My only concern at this point is rust in the metal structure of the car. Car spent its whole life down south so I'm not overly concerned, but wanted...

Ok, replaced the MAster Cyclinder and then blew the right rear brake line right at the T fitting.. The part that broke was the long line heading to the front of the car.. Of course, it's rusted pretty bad.. Any advice for breaking this thing loose?? I'd hate to have to replace the other two lines...

Has anyone used Rust Bullet, and what were your impressions of it?I used it as a temporary "fix" this winter on 2 cars and wasn't overly happy with the result. It looked nice when applied, but it seems with Michigan weather, the rust is coming through it over a month's time. Wanted to see if...

How to tighten the exhaust manifold with rusted bolts?   (Archive: TD&Q - by jwrape, started: 06-24-2011, last post: 2013-03-14 10:11:49 CET)
My 86 GT runs great......(92k mi.). I have a exhaust leak on rear manifold #5, i think, cylinder. I can actually see the space between the head and the manifold where the gasket has fell apart and left a couple little pieces. Enough to leave a crack to move exhaust through. Now I know the bolts...
