4.9 hard time starting hot

Anyone have any ideas as to what would cause my 4.9 to have a hard time starting hot?I am thinking its either wiring overheats and resistance increasing or starter overheating causing simillar problem or both. Start. I used the Fiero Factory harness it is basic plug and play. Before I start tracing wires I was wondering if anyone else had this happen? Everything powers up but when I hit the starter switch the starter does not engage.
