What 3800 Series Is This?
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by rehoward, started: 10-15-2023, last post: 2023-10-26 17:17:35 CEST)
I found this 3800 but the owner knows nothing about it. I assume it is a 3800 V6 but in my searchesat wrecking yards, I haven't seen one quite like this one. What is striking is the aluminum doghouse-style intake and finned valve covers. Is this just an older series of 3800? See pics.Randy[This...

The 6spd clutch is at the top.6sp pressure plate and clutch disc note the hot spot locations in the pressure plate, the pressure plate clamping force was measured by the local clutch builder at 2000 lbs, that's pretty stout, he said and much stronger than the fiero's pressure plate.[This message...

Now that my vacation is over and I have sourced the parts needed, I am ready to make a batch of custom AC lines for running the 3800 Series 2 or 3 AC compressor in the Fiero. If you send your Fiero hoses and 3800 hoses there will be no core charge. If I have to furnish the Fiero or 3800 aluminum...

(Technical Discussion & Questions - by GT40 3.8 SC, started: 01-24-2017, last post: 2017-01-26 23:05:58 CET)
I've posted on existing threads but not getting any response. I have a 1995 3800 SC out of a Buick Riviera. I'm doing the F40 swap and removing the 4T60E auto. I will need my EPROM reprogrammed. The EPROM is a plug in, not soldered in. I'm learning, from other threads, I may have a less popular...

The LFX engine for a swap?.
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by Dennis LaGrua, started: 11-17-2018, last post: 2018-12-28 17:59:56 CET)
Most Fiero owners that wanted more horsepower went with the 3800SC or 4.9L engines. A few tried the 3500/3900 engines but I do not recall seeing many LFX engine swaps. The LFX might be the next great engine for a V6 Fiero engine swap because its light and in the right version makes 300HP normally...
