'80-'82 LED Corvette Tail Lights

Just bought a set of four of these for the Ferrario and they fit ok. But the normal tail light bulbs slide in and then turn. But the LED ones won't turn. Anyone else use these? Is there a modification I need to do to keep the pigtail from just falling out of the socket? Should I buy then splice in...

Replacing marker and tail lights with LED?

Has anyone successfully replaced tail lights and marker lights with the new LED lights? We talk about how inefficient the early alternators are, I wondered if replacing all the bulbs with LED (I understand they are more efficient) bulbs would help that issue.
