4.9 what to grab?

Question about installing a game on a slave drive

Will this work or will all of the DLL files and registry items still have to be installed in the C:\ drive? I was just wondering if it is worth it to save drive space or will the games run like crap due to the "cross-referencing" during game play of the files?
