Northstar Electronics: Forget the Aurora Chip
(Archive: TD&Q - by Will, started: 04-27-2002, last post: 2002-08-25 11:44:37 CEST)
First off, a recap of my situation: I am in FL in Navy flight school. The car is in Virginia being sorted out. I haven't actually driven it yet, my father has done the testing and tweaking.Based on what I had read in the Aurora FSM, I had initially thought that the Aurora calpak did not have all of...

why no aurora v8 swaps
(Archive: TD&Q - by freedog81, started: 03-04-2002, last post: 2002-08-25 11:39:55 CEST)
Why arent any aurora v8 swaps being done to fieros? These are the same engines used in indy racing so they have plenty of performance potential and aftermarket support. just seems like a logical choice for a fiero in my opinion.

Alright, the V-6 Aurora is the 3.5L and the V-8 Aurora is the 4.0L. What kind of power outputs do these engines have? And can they be put in a Fiero? If anyone has any info or expierence, please reply. Thanks!

AN AURORA FIERO??
(Archive: TD&Q - by Doni Hagan, started: 07-09-2001, last post: 2002-02-08 14:45:31 CET)
Has anyone got any info on the Aurora 3.5 engine? Will it work in a Fiero and, if so, will it match up to an existing automatic tranny. I've got an 87 GT that I'm going to either swap out the 2.8 or upgrade. Either way, the work is about the same. Thanks for your input, guys.

Aurora V8 / NorthStar weight
(Archive: TD&Q - by Kwez, started: 05-08-2001, last post: 2001-09-24 23:36:10 CEST)
hi all,I'm looking into an Aurora V8 swap (w. a 5speed trans) and I wanted to be certain that the engine (I assume it's the same weight as the NorthStar) IS lighter than the stock V6.That's what I remember reading from the ACE WEB site for the NorthStar, but I remember reading something about...

Aurora chip/Northstar
(Archive: TD&Q - by Jay, started: 03-12-2001, last post: 2001-09-24 23:34:41 CEST)
Okay WILL, so if the Aurora and Northstar ECM's are the same, the chip from the Aurora should work in a Northstar equiped car, right? What year Aurora chip should be used, and does the options on the Aurora matter? Are you sure that the Aurora chip doesn't look for TC,climate control or ABS?
