Advice on checking for a vacum leak for a very none mechanical guy? I no longer have a cat and do have a manifold leak on the firewall side, are these possible reasons? Car has always Idled at 1200RPM nice an smoothly.

Glowing manifolds + arcing plug wires ?

I fired my Fiero up last night, let it idle for a few minutes, and... the rear exhaust manifold was glowing. Not much, but enough to trouble me. While observing it, I also saw that there's arcing going on with the spark plugs (or wires). What could cause these problems? Thanks in advance

Just thought hat I'd like to pass on the latest cause that I have found that cause Glowing exhaust manifolds. Glowing exhaust manifolds can be caused by a lean mixture (vacuum leak or clogged injectors), or improper timing, but the ones on my other N/A 87GT were caused by a defective coolant...

went out to start the car this morning, and got NOTHING!! found out the ignition coil was bad, replaced it, havent driven it anywhere but into the garage, Could this be why the manifolds were glowing? could it have been getting a weak spark?matthew
