Crate engine value

Interesting article in Car and Driver Sept. 2014 about crate engines as to the power per dollar efficiency. For a Fiero engine transplant..the winner is..Chevrolet 350 290 HP, 326 lb.ft., 352 lbs. $2560. Whats your opinion ??

Water leak

Tried to find a small water/coolant leak in right rear of car. Checked the " weep hole" of water pump, hoses etc. Is there a dye I can put into the overflow and check with a " glow light" like when they put dye in the oil to test for leaks . Someone suggested food coloring, but I think it would get...

Relocating Coil

Have a MSD blaster coil, finishing up exhaust manifold gaskets ( don't ask I almost lost my mind), wondering about guys saying to relocate it because of the heat. Does it make sense to locate it on the trunk storage wall facing the engine, or ( with holes drilled) put it inside the trunk (...

Engine red paint

Minor stall and backfire

When cruising around for less then 25 miles, engine temp is normal, my 85GT V-6 will start to "buck" in 1st gear after a stop to almost a stall, like its choking, push the gas down a little and it goes away but sometimes backfires. No codes. Any ideas ??

3rd brake light bulb

Burned out the bulb inside the 3rd parking light , inside rear window, cleaned it up and went to Auto Zone. Thought I's get a LED for more brightness, ...but $26.00 for 2 LED bulbs???? No way..any opinions as to what bulb I should use that's reasonavble to replace the stock bulb for a brighter...

Tight lug nut

Man oh man have a front left flat. Cannot get one lug nut off of alum mags. Any ideas before I strip the hex top shape of nut?? HELP !!!!

Perfect day for a car show, great place by St. Charles, Illinois. Not as many cars as years ago, maby 50 most stock are...well..not exciting..BUT..the classes with modified with interiors, body mods and the array of 3800's , V-8's, superchanged engines, attention to detail was AWSOME !!!!. Well...
