Pegging temp gauge question (DOHC swap related)   (Technical Discussion & Questions - by tesmith66, started: 10-07-2015, last post: 2015-10-07 19:00:43 CEST)
I have a 3.4 DOHC in my 86 and am using the single wire (temperature only) sending unit that came with the engine. Since I do not need the temperature warning light bulb test feature on startup, can I just snip the wire that erroneously feeds 12V to the gauge on startup? I see no need to swap wires...

I have been reading up on how to fix the pegging temp gauge problem (here: http://www.fierosails.com/tempgage.html) and am left with two questions:1: the info in the article is referencing 84 and 88 models; has anyone done this exact fix to 85-87 2.8s with success?2: the plastic connector on my...

Temp Gauge pegs to right while loose from gauge set assembly   (Technical Discussion & Questions - by hdryder, started: 03-23-2014, last post: 2014-03-23 18:09:47 CET)
I have a stock temperature gauge that is peg to the far right. I pulled the Fuel & Temp gauge set out of the dash gauge assembly unit, and without it being connected to anything, it is still pegging to the far right. I can swing the needle by hand, but it always returns to the far right position.Is...

temp. gauge peg repair question?? Was it ever fixed at factory after a certain date??   (Technical Discussion & Questions - by Curtisk1060, started: 02-15-2013, last post: 2013-08-30 22:42:32 CEST)
I am in the process of correcting the temp. gauge pegging problem on my 87GT by swapping the wires on the sensor and at the two locations ( C2 pin 11 with C3 pin 13) on the back of the cluster harness. I was wondering if anyone knows if this fix was eventually corrected at the factory as my 88GT...

Temp gauge pegging out   (Archive: TD&Q - by Zoom88, started: 04-15-2008, last post: 2009-09-07 11:04:50 CEST)
My temp gauge just all of a sudden just pegs out when I start the car.I thought it was the temp gauge sensor but replacing it did not help.Fan comes on at its normal cycle so that kinda rules out the coolant tempsensor.Any suggestions ?

Did the temp. gauge fix and I zeroed the gauge by unplugging the sender and turning the key to on. The gauge does not peg anymore but it still moves a bit. So now when the car is off the needle is to the left of the 100* but once I turn it to on the needle goes to 100*. Is this right?? Another...
