Minor Frame Rail Rust
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by Cameron416, started: 08-05-2019, last post: 2019-08-05 21:56:39 CEST)
I just got the rear clip off of my 86SE. Much less rust than I was expecting (Massachusetts Car), frame rails in decent shape. While they are sturdy and would be safe to drive with, I am restoring this car and want everything to be safe and reliable for a long time afterwards. There is surface rust...

Auto tranny dipstick rust
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by cebix, started: 08-17-2016, last post: 2016-08-18 17:08:13 CEST)
Okay this is probably a stupid question but has anyone dealt with this? In the middle of the dipstick (way above the oil level line) there is rust and it's going serious. What's the best way to deal with this so no chemicals or worse the rust itself won't contaminate the transmission fluid? Thanks.

I just took off the thermostat housing on my '84 today to replace the gasket, and I will be replacing the water pump after as well. The inside of the thermostat housing and the block it is connected to is extremely corroded and rusty - I've ran it for a collective about 30 minutes, it had been...

Rust Repair (The Correct Way)
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by DimeMachine, started: 01-23-2021, last post: 2021-02-01 01:01:39 CET)
If you have a Fiero, then chances are you have (or will) be dealing with RUST. It is a 37+ year old car - so if it has been driven, moisture - perhaps even salt have gotten to the space frame metal and worked their destruction. If you do find some rust through - here is how to deal with it...

Hi guys,I am not sure if this has been covered somewhere on one of the billions of threads here, but I am trying to find replacement screws to hold my rear wing on? I see there are actually two sizes of the screw, and each has a self-tapping screw on one end and an actual bold with threads on the...

what to do about frame rail rust?
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by kawana, started: 10-13-2014, last post: 2014-10-14 11:22:26 CEST)
While repairing a patch of rust in my trunk, I noticed that there is a good bit of rust in my frame rails. It doesn't appear that any of it eats all the way through yet. What are my options from stopping the rust from getting any worse? How involved would it be to remove the sheet metal and expose...
