Dropping the cradle tomorrow - clutch issues.   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 06-18-2006, last post: 2007-03-15 11:32:57 CET)
Well, Spec's clutch killed itself and the throwout bearing, so it's time for me to pull the cradle and ship 'er off to florida so I can get a new one. Mildly frustrating. However, this will give me the opportunity to correct a few things I neglected last time I took it out, so it's all good I...

Turbocharger questions   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 10-09-2007, last post: 2009-02-19 10:44:42 CET)
Hi guys,I have a 2.8 built up. It breathes great up to 6500 rpm, and starts making good power around 2500. I like having a nice, peaky engine like this. I am thinking about installing a larger turbocharger, one sized appropriately for higher RPM power, so probably in the 3-6500 range. I am thinking...

Foglight ideas... and idiocy!   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 10-02-2006, last post: 2007-03-15 11:29:24 CET)
Well, I had a plan. My plan was to install foglights on the Fiero, as my headlights aren't the best for 'up close' situations. Well, I got all thinky, and came up with a plan to remove the recessed turn signals from the car (I know, illegal, just pretend it's legal for now.) I like these lights,...

Anyone had luck with MSD coils?   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 09-21-2007, last post: 2009-02-19 10:44:49 CET)
Hey there.I'm just wondering if anyone has had luck with MSD coils. I'm going to be upgrading my ignition soon, and that's one item I haven't contemplated yet, I just haven't been able to put in the research time. I'll be using the digital 6+ box from them, they do have info regarding their...

Rear brake rebuild question   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 02-08-2005, last post: 2005-08-18 10:16:21 CEST)
My rear brakes were functioning kinda poorly. The right rear was leaking rather a lot, and the e-brake was not functioning right. (Very weak grab.) The pads were almost new, so that was not the problem.I just rebuilt one of the calipers, and now things are good and tight. Really, really, really...

Throwout bearing lubrication - spec st3, 2.8/5spd getrag   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 05-02-2005, last post: 2005-08-18 10:13:46 CEST)
Short and sweet:I put my throwout bearing on without filling 'er up with grease. It seemed to be pre-oiled from the manufaturer, there wasn't a ton of lube in there but it was 'wet' and spun nicely. Haven't had any problems, but I am curious to find out if I made a mistake. Will it explode faster...

Coolant crossover tube Q's   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 10-02-2006, last post: 2007-03-15 11:29:24 CET)
Hey guys, I have a simple one for you - How is the crossover tube supposed to be positioned in front of the engine? I've been trying to make it fit, but it's like it doesn't belong there. I have a '86 GT with A/C and the manual tranny. It's driving me insane - I can't figure out how it is fastened...

Going to cut up the trunk, any pointers?   (Archive: TD&Q - by The Funkmaster, started: 10-27-2006, last post: 2007-03-15 11:28:36 CET)
Well, I hate the Fiero trunk. It's ugly, misshapen, and non-functional. I'm going to cut it up, and re-form it to what I percieve to be a 'good-looking' trunk.I've already removed the carpet, and have no intention of replacing it. My plan is to remove the lower section of the trunk (the narrow...
