cleaning fuel level sender   (Archive: TD&Q - by MordacP, started: 02-17-2008, last post: 2009-09-07 11:04:10 CEST)
I have the same problem that many people have with the non-responsive fuel gauge. I have heard that all you need to do it clean the sender in the tank. is this true? If so, what part do we clean?

my fuel sender was bent and basically trash so I sent it off to be rebuilt. I get it back and they fixed one third of the problems and then the fuel pump would no longer lineup. So I send it back and I included a list of problems it was having just as I did the time before. Well the sender has...

Fuel Level Sender Problem   (Archive: TD&Q - by grinthock, started: 04-21-2001, last post: 2001-09-24 23:35:33 CEST)
OK so here i am driving on a 400klm trip and I notice after 2 hours of driving that my fuel level is STILL sitting at 1/4, not going down, so I stop and put in 33 litres. ??? That's strange I figure, THEN I drive more and realize later that it goes down to 1/4 and stop, and occasionally fluctuates...

fuel level sender question   (Archive: TD&Q - by hercimer01, started: 07-09-2012, last post: 2016-03-23 10:12:25 CET)
My fuel level sender doesn't work. The wire wound resister is good along with the contact thru the spring to ground. however there is no contact from the wiper arm thru the pivot to the input. What is missing here in the wiper arm to make the contact? Is some thing broke off? Thanks in advance.

I dropped two of my tanks and neither one has a fuel level sending unit like the ones shown in the archived threads. They show a white plastic body with a removable resistor that is held on by two screws. Mine is stamped metal with no servicable fasteners. It has been working but it only reads...

Fuel tank sending units, GM, pt# 25093562 have now gone the way of the GT tail lights . I have called Auto Zone, NAPA, Pep Boys, Smiths Auto, and 4 different dealers, yet it's to no avail. They say that they are unable to get 'em, don’t stock it, or its not even coming up in their systems. I...

i have an 86 fiero 2m4, i purchased a rebuilt sending unit from a sending unit specialist online, he only had a sending unit available from a v6 fiero, he told me it is the same as the one from the 4 cylinder car, it fit right into the tank but i had to get longer fuel line hoses because of the...

I remember a thread a while back , with pictures, I think, showing how to repair this sending unit. A new one is over $400! I did a search and couldn't find it. Anyone ?

Fuel level   (Archive: TD&Q - by pick, started: 02-21-2002, last post: 2002-08-25 11:39:03 CEST)
Does anyone know of an after market fuel gauge that will work in the 86 GT? Or should I take my chances with one from a junk yard? The cost of a new replacement is just too ridiculous.

fuel level sender, what others will work?   (Archive: TD&Q - by americasfuture2k, started: 07-15-2008, last post: 2009-09-07 11:04:10 CEST)
ive been doing some research these last few days on fuel pumps and level sending units. it seems getting a fiero level sender is getting rarer and rarer. are there any others that will work? i mean fitment wise since most gm cars are 0-90 ohms.
