coilover placement

i am putting a set of coilovers on struts and dont like the idea of the hat part mating to the strut bushing .it would seem that the weight of the whole back end would be supported on just the two shafts,was thinking of making a perch of some kind to take the weight.what are other people doing??

I have been searching the archives but can't find the exact answer- What must be done to use the 3.1 minivan engine in my '86 automatic GT?What exact year do I ask for at the wrecking yard?
