Minor Frame Rail Rust   (Technical Discussion & Questions - by Cameron416, started: 08-05-2019, last post: 2019-08-05 21:56:39 CEST)
I just got the rear clip off of my 86SE. Much less rust than I was expecting (Massachusetts Car), frame rails in decent shape. While they are sturdy and would be safe to drive with, I am restoring this car and want everything to be safe and reliable for a long time afterwards. There is surface rust...

So... I got the disappointment of a lifetime. I took the car into a very good classic mechanic to have a full service, fluids, brakes etc. done... he came out in a half an hour, wiped his face and said "I'm sorry. Your car's a write-off. The Frame is rusted right through, and only God's luck is...

I own an 87 GT 5 speed. I was driving through a small town on my way to install optical equipment at a new cell site and saw a gorgeous 86 Fiero GT for sale. I looked at it, and the paint was still like new, and it had only 13k miles on it. I showed it to my wife, and now she wants it for...

Rust dripping from under the car   (Technical Discussion & Questions - by NetCam, started: 08-13-2014, last post: 2018-09-08 15:06:49 CEST)
So it seemed to have at the very least let up, but now it's worse than ever. Every time it rains, my car is leaving a nasty trail of rust all the way down the driveway. I'm unfortunately thinking it must be coming from my upper frame rails because from the engine bay or under the car everything...

So I was starting to remove the V6 on my 86GT for a 3800SC swap when I found some horrendous rust. I took out the right rear fender well and this is what it looks like:Anyone have any ideas as to if there's a way to repair/replace some of this? I don't have much experience with this area of repair....
