Headlight motor question, please help   (by mljosey, started: 05-14-2018, last post: 2018-05-15 05:17:33 CEST)
Hi, 1986 fiero. Headlight motor, passenger side. First time the motor went, assumed it was due to a 'missing /burnt off' bumper, plus all the green gunk and plastic gears. Put in rodney dickman gears, parts from other motors, that were still in good shape. Now on to a second burn out, this one...

One more plank on the bridge to fix it all..I had to repair my gen 2 headlight control box. Fortunately I had two of them to fuss with.I did figure out how to bench test the unit.I use two LEDs, red and green, back to back (reverse polarity) with a 1K resistor in series... on each motor output (a...

Hello. I'm new to the group and want to first thank Cliff for access. I also want to apologize because I know this question has probably been asked many times but here goes: 86 Gen 1 headlamps Problem - battery has a constant drain, and there is a clicking noise every 30 seconds or so at the driver...

Gen 2 headlight motors speed   (by viperine, started: 02-23-2018, last post: 2018-02-24 11:17:35 CET)
First, I tried searching and surprisingly did not find a result, but my 87 headlight motors run at significantly different speeds. Driver side pops up fast, but the passenger side is at nearly half speed. Is this a DIY serviceable issue, or should I plan for a Cardone unit? I am on the fence as to...

A quick question on the Gen 1 headlight motors...   (by Rsvl-Rider, started: 11-22-2016, last post: 2016-11-22 21:31:56 CET)
A friend recently bought a 1984. One of the headlight motors will need rebuilding soon. I have some spare plastic bushings, pins, bumpers... (whatever they are called) ... from my Gen 2 rebuild stuff. Are these interchangeable between types? I don't want to take them apart just to find out I don't...

How much amperage do the early headlight motors draw?   (by cvxjet, started: 09-18-2018, last post: 2018-09-20 01:37:24 CEST)
I am considering installing relays on the main power wires to the headlight motors........So they are only juiced when the car is on......I have some 30 amp relays.....Would they be big enough?

Instructions for rebuilding 88 / gen 2 headlight motors?   (by echocharliepapa, started: 01-06-2015, last post: 2015-01-07 02:03:26 CET)
I ordered new gears/bushings/gaskets for my headlight motors from the Fiero Store after one of them stopped lifting (motor still runs when switched). The rebuild sets came with instructions but they are not as detailed as I would like as someone with very little mechanical experience. Didn't really...
