help with aldl please

hi guys, i just tried to hook up my laptop to the car with no luck.i have cables and usb converter, i plugged black, green and red wires to the ecm and when i start the winaldl program i get unable to open serial port / COM1does this mean my cables are not working? or am i doing something wrong...

Ok so second time in just over 2 weeks this has happened ...first time the engine has acted up ...first time engine would just start and then die ..start die ..had to 2 pedal it to get it out of the parking spot and get it to the shop i work at...i had to start it in neutral keep my foot on the gas...

Car idles extremely high, intermittently
