4.9 no spark

TH125 + 4.9 V8.. top speed, gas mileage?

I did a search (as usual) and didn't find anything on this.3000 RPM at 70MPH on a V8? The redline is 5,250. That's over halfway to redline! Would this still get me low 20s gas mileage? What about top speed? I calculated it to a gearing-limited 122.5.(5250/3000) * 70 = 122.5

Hi my 1991 4.9 is giving me problems it takes a good 10 to 20 seconds of turing it over before it will fire but when it is warm it fires right up. Because earlyer that day it didnt do it now it has been about 2 days of doing this can any one help it is really annoying. J Sokol

Will Big 4.9 alternator (140 amp) fit on Allante intake?

Can 4.9 bracket and alternator be modified to fit the Allante intake?.... or should I find an Allante alternator bracket..... I would rather save money and reuse the 4.9 alternator..... that plus it can put out 140 amps.

4.9 leaky water pump

Several months ago I noticed a puddle of coolant under the water pump area on my DD 4.9. It seemed to be coming from the upper left side (0pposite side from the shaft/pully) of the water pump. I found two of the mounting bolts in that area to be loose so I tightened them. This stopped the leak...

4.9 Valve cover question....

The local junk yard has a 4.9 valve cover,(oil fill side)...for $20 I was going to swap the one I have over if it will work but can I have one on both sides?I know the back may be hard to see but for the price? I would have a matching pair.Will it work or will it not clear somewhere?Thanks,Paul
