4.9 Seville Exhuast Manifolds - Reversible?   (Archive: TD&Q - by vafierro, started: 02-26-2007, last post: 2009-02-19 10:46:07 CET)
I haven't pulled my manifolds so I have a question about the spacing. Are the heads symetrical as far as the header bolts? My engine is a 1994 4.9 from a Seville. I was wondering if the exhaust manifolds can be swapped and turned upside down to face upwards instead of down? This is for my turbo 4.9...

Do I have to remove the decklid springs for clearance for the 4.9 motor? I have a Rodney Dickman strut so it's not a problem if I do.

Has anyone out there used the passkey box on their 4.9 swap ? I am wondering if you need the right resistance between the wires that go to the key on the caddy.

Have you checked your oil pressure with an accurate gauge (not the one on the dash). Engine up to temp and at idle (750 to 800 RPMs), 10 - 30 weight oil. I get 9.7 to 10 PSI. I never had a problem with the oil light coming on, but about 2 weeks ago I had a drop in what looks like oil pressure. ...
