Ok so after blowing up a stock clutch on my 4.9, then upgrading to a Centerforce V8 clutch and exploding that, I decided to really do some searching, I talked to a clutch place in Alberta, I spoke to Spec, and about a half dozen other places. After hearing about the random failures of...

Brake upgrade to larger rotors?   (Archive: TD&Q - by CAPT. KIRK, started: 10-26-2002, last post: 2003-02-04 11:36:49 CET)
I would like to upgrade my rear brakes to a larger size rotor to increase braking power. I think that I remember reading somewhere that the rear brakes from a Pontiac 6000, all wheel drive, can be easily used for this project. I understand that because they are rear calipers that they have the...

TEMP GAUGE EXCHANGE?   (Archive: TD&Q - by CAPT. KIRK, started: 06-28-2002, last post: 2002-11-04 12:05:42 CET)
Can someone tell me if the temp. gauge from a '85 cluster with a 85 MPH speedo is interchangable with the temp gauge from an '87 cluster with a 120 MPH speedo. I've got a bad gauge in my '87, but I have an extra cluster from an '85 that I could use. Any help would be appreciated.Kirk

Ok with winter quickly approaching, for some already arrived. The temps around here are dropping to below freezing at night and we are expecting our first snow today. I needed a way to quickly and cleanly remove antifreeze from my Fiero. Its too low to fit a bucket under it, and even with a...

Ok I got a parts car tranny and motor. We pulled it apart tonight becuase it is going into my 85GT. The part number is 14073796 and there is another ID on it, GM-CFM-6 I would like to know what these numbers mean, maybe if they can at least tell me the ratio of gears inside the tranny or...

Ok I posted the details in the Mall Section. But here is the explanation. I met a guy at the local car hang out and turned out he makes poly bushings for a living. Turns out I have met his boss a time ago. Well we worked out a deal to make some Fiero Specific stuff. Starting with Poly Sway...

Ok I must tell you this was done on a road dyno. (laptop with special software, and wired into the cars ignition system, then the car is weighed at scales to get an exact current weight, and gearing is inputed, as well as tire size and all that kind of stuff, then you take your car out, idle it in...

Hey all, I want to know if I am better off running 19# for injectors at 25lbs fuel pressure or if I should just run 15# fuel injectors at a slightly higher than stock pressure. Could someone let me know what the stock running at idle pressure is. I have a fuel pressure gauge and an adjustable...

Custom / Budget 4.9 Cold Air Intake   (Archive: TD&Q - by Capt Fiero, started: 06-06-2005, last post: 2006-08-11 13:11:41 CEST)
Ok so I was going to buy the CAI intake kit you see on ebay all the time. Then I got to thinking I really don't like the way it sits. I don't like the fact that you get stuck putting it in a certain way and you have to use a carb spacer to make it work. So I started thinking. Hmm. 5" PCV Pipe...
