One of my headlights tries to open, moves then drops back down, the manual "knob" still spins for about 5 seconds both direction, when opening and when I shut the lights off, since the motor is obviously running what is the issue and what is the fix?

Headlight motors not stopping   (by MilesPrower, started: 08-29-2021, last post: 2021-08-31 16:56:53 CEST)
So I turn my headlights on and they pop up, but the motors won’t stop spinning. I took the assemblies out to have a look and the motors look fine. I put them back in and now the passenger side works normally, but the driver side pops up and gets stuck and won’t stop spinning. I replace the...

Gen 1 headlight motor stator magnet orientation   (by pmbrunelle, started: 12-31-2017, last post: 2018-01-03 07:39:10 CET)
Recently, I began the rebuild of the headlight motors on my 1985 Fiero. I hastily disassembled and cleaned all parts. When it was time to put everything back together, there were two ways (that made sense) to reinstall the stator magnets in the plastic casing. As we know, if the stator magnet is...

Rebuilt the driver’s side motor today. After putting it all back together and getting it back into the car, it is working intermittently. It goes down fine. But, when I want it to come up, it will do nothing for a few seconds and then it will go up. Sometimes, it will pause in the little of...

Remove Headlight Motor Fuse?   (by coltonandrew, started: 05-03-2015, last post: 2015-05-04 05:22:16 CEST)
Currently, my drivers side headlight motor is burnt out on my 86 i4 2.5. I'm getting tired of cranking it up and down by hand. I'm thinking for the time being, due to budget concerns, I would like to just set both lights open and remove the head light motor fuse so they're constantly up, but not...

Rebuilt the motors in my 87 GT last night. A few notes from my experience and a question:- On the side where the motor shaft has to come out to release the gear...both screws holding the motor in place snapped off at their heads. They had some rust but broke very easily (wrist pressure on a small...
