It's true, 2.8 valve covers CAN be removed without removing the middle intake plenum!
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by Patrick, started: 08-03-2015, last post: 2024-02-25 23:45:39 CET)
I'm in the process of installing CompCam 1.6 roller-tip rockers in my 2.8 powered 5-spd '88 Formula. The car actually goes surprisingly well at autocross with its basically stock engine (has ported exhaust logs). I'm not expecting miracles, but I'm hoping a little more valve lift might be somewhat...

Intake Plenum 12 point bolts?
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by Killerdude, started: 07-01-2016, last post: 2016-07-23 00:28:12 CEST)
While I was tearing down the top end to redo head gaskets and stuff, I broke a few of these bolts and no matter where I look, I can't seem to find replacements for them anywhere.Shame really, They look really nice, I'd hate to replace them with some boring old hex bolts.

The 4.1 Allante intake.
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by sourmash, started: 01-05-2020, last post: 2020-01-10 23:51:36 CET)
I read a posting by Raydar that the coolant passages o the 4.1 intake don't align properly with the 4.5 and 4.9. So does the 4.1 Allante have any value? If so, what might it be worth in USD? And is there a remedy?

Hello all you engine builders out there, I need your help.I am looking at "potentially" doing something a little crazy with my engine (which I am not going to reveal quite yet... I haven't worked out all the details) which involves making a few completely 1 off 100% custom parts. To build these...

quad 4 backfiring into the intake?
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by pontiackid86, started: 11-12-2013, last post: 2013-11-13 02:28:05 CET)
So today I tried using a little starting fluid on my new fiero and it sounded like it had a little life left in it until a huge fireball erupted through my intake tube and gave me a hell of a time putting it out (no damage to the car wires etc just need a new tube) what would cause this?

I recently purchased a modified upper intake from a fellow member ( thanks Jeff, it was a pleasure ). The modification is the "Dawg style intake" where the restrictive part of the upper plenum throat is cut out and a round piece of aluminum is welded in it's place to enlarge the passage and...

Holly intake and idle question
(Technical Discussion & Questions - by Dmbowers98, started: 01-31-2014, last post: 2014-01-31 14:44:42 CET)
So I have 2 questions. First, I got the holly carb and intake manifold. And I always hear about people talking about the benefits of the adjustable fuel pressure on the holly carb. Does it really give it any benefits? I mean at least enough that I should turn it up. As far as I know, people say it...

The good thing about Minnesota for car guys is that you get plenty of time over the winter to work on your Fiero since you likely are not driving it. Unless it is a daily driver.I spent a few hours upgrading my 3800 SC Fiero's air intake this past week and put together a video of exactly what...
