When the engine warms up the intake/air cleaner starts to make a flapping or popping noise. loud enough to be irritating. any ideas ?

Intake manifold 2.5

Fellas, I searched the archives and couldn't find the answer to my question? I thought I read that there is another 2.5 (Pontiac) intake manifold that is a horsepower upgrade to the stock 2.5 '85 ? Is this true? What year or how do I get this "GM" intake upgrade?Cordially,kevin

flow bench numbers for removing the little fin in the intake port

I have read removing the fin from the intake tract of the 2.8 heads causes a loss in power/flow. I know the floor of a port really isn't the place to find flow increases but other than "hear say" is there some test results to show that.Thanks, Woody

Does anyone know what kind of aluminium the lower intake is made from?I'm thinking of getting the intake plated, so it would be preferable to have as much information as possible while getting quotations from the shops in the area.

How well does the intake manifold on the 2.8 flow? I'm buying a formula, and the intake manifold looks killer, but I'm concerned that it may not be able to supply enough air to feed the engine at 7k+ I don't know how many miles are on the car, and I plan on a full rebuild, and I'd like to build it...
