Flat top 3.1 pistons for stroker?   (Archive: TD&Q - by Mike Murphy, started: 10-14-2006, last post: 2007-03-15 11:28:58 CET)
Anyone ever use a set of these? Wondering about my compression ratio going up and octane vs computer's ability to function with a high compression ratio. I'm thinking 10:1 but not positive. They were custom made and I had rotating assembly balanced.

Anton done the early 90's 3.1 w turbo swap?   (Archive: TD&Q - by Wudman, started: 05-25-2002, last post: 2002-08-25 11:46:21 CEST)
A friend just wasted his low mileage turb-prix, 3.1 w/factory turbo, wondering if anyone has bolted one of these into a Fiero? I know the block is an easy swap, it is the plumbing and wiring I wonder about.

89 3.1 from GP to 87 Fiero GT   (Archive: TD&Q - by Mike Murphy, started: 01-02-2005, last post: 2005-04-10 10:36:51 CEST)
Ok my son's 87 GT I just picked up with 140,000 miles although running pretty good has a good bit of blowby and rather than a rebuild I have an aluminum head 3.1 that I think I'm going to just do a simple swap. Yes I know I can't use the Fiero intake with the splayed valve heads and that's fine. ...

3.1 stroked timing marks   (Archive: TD&Q - by Cplensdorf, started: 09-18-2003, last post: 2003-12-29 12:54:59 CET)
From what I understand, the 3.1 and the 2.8 timing markers are on opposite sides of the crank. When timing a a stroked 2.8(3.1), must I remark the balancer to obtain correct timing? I currently have the engine timed using the old 2.8 marks and it sounds like a lot of detonation from 2K-3K in the...

2.8, 3.1 or 3.4 block??   (Archive: TD&Q - by bluefiero, started: 11-07-2005, last post: 2006-02-06 11:42:43 CET)
A little while back I picked up an 85 GT 4 speed that had been stipped down to the chassis from a friend who works at a body shop. The roof had been cut off because it was going to be used to build a kit car, but then they figured out it wouldnt work right, so I got it for free. The only reason we...

Whew, been a frustrating day.I tested the alternator by pulling the batt while car was running, still ran.Tested it with meter, measured 14.1-14.3VWith batt full charged starts up fine, but after driving for a bit, if I stall it or turn it off and on, the batt has lost its charge and am dead in...
